Our love story
The Story of our love and the Wedding
When Victoria Met Juan
That day changed everything
When we met
June 21, 2015
Believe it or not, we met at my parent’s house. Juan Andres used to go to school with my mom Anabel. We met on our dear friend Maru’s birthday. Since it was one of those milestones, Maru wanted to do a big thing, she rented a limousine, bought a piñata and all the props such as whistles, confetti, headbands, rings and bead necklaces to make it really memorable. Here comes the funny part, they left school wearing all those props and while driving to my house Juan looks at some girls in a car laughing and giving him the thumbs up about his bead necklaces, they all laughed about it and joked about what had happened, and Juan says, “Maru I could have met the love of my live today and you had to hang this on my neck” ..Well my friends, he actually did!!
Our first Date
23 Oct 2016
We started out as friends, we went out many times just getting to know each other and definitely laughing a lot... If you know Juan, you probably understand. We wanted to know each other well because we understood the importance of guarding our hearts. On our first real date, Juan decided to take me to an all-Colombian experience! We went for lunch to a delicious Colombian restaurant at Brickell and even though I ended up eating Churrasco instead of the super traditional Bandeja Paisa, everything was delicious. Then we went for coffee to Juan Valdez, a Colombian Coffee Shop sort of like Starbucks... For Juan, I was the perfect girl until he found out I didn’t like coffee… Anyways, I ordered a supper creamy coconut-mocha coffee, it was delicious though Juan says it was closer to a milkshake than an actual coffee hahahah Finally, when it was time to leave, Juan’s car wouldn’t start, the battery was completely dead and we had to get help, he was so stressed! He couldn’t believe what was happening, but everything worked out!
How he proposed
August 18, 2016
This was the cutest, most romantic and special proposal ever... At least in my heart! It was our first anniversary so I could sort of sense it was going to be a special day, but I didn’t have the certainty of what that special day would be about. It was on a Thursday and Juan sent me a video saying he had prepared a game for me, he had spread some clues that lead to each other with beautiful messages and memories. The last one that lead to my dad who said he was driving me to a dinner date at 8pm. When we got there, my dad dropped me off and said he had to rush to a business meeting at Brickell. I noticed we were at Juan’s workplace; when they opened the door, Juan was sitting on a high bench, playing guitar and singing along the song he wrote for me on my birthday. Luisa and Camilo, his amazing co-workers and friends, told me to sit on a bench in front of Juan to listen to the whole song. When the song came to an end, I clapped and walked up to him to give him a hug... Then he started talking and among other things remembering the promise God gave him about me on Ecclesiastes 4: 9-11 …finally he popped out the question and I said yes! Suddenly I hear a lot of people cheering and clapping!! It turns out that my family, friends and Pastors sneaked in as soon as I sat on the bench to listen… Everything looked so beautiful! Juan together with other accomplices prepared everything at the studio from decorations to cameras to make this an unforgettable moment. I loved every single detail from the decorations to my lovely ring, but more importantly I feel happy an honored to get to build a home, a family and a life together. P.D. If you ever want to hear another story, ask Juan about his experience getting the ring!
Since then we are together
To present
We have really grown up as best friends, we have supported completely, enduring the trials and celebrating the success... We have both grown as individuals and human beings. We love spending time together, meeting new places, developing new projects, serving at our local church, helping others, and we really can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.
